Stocks To Watch Thursday November 05, 2009: Cisco Systems Inc, Prudential Financials Inc, Allstate Corporation, MGM Mirage, Time Warner Inc.

Cisco Systems, Inc., (CSCO): Founded in 1984, headquartered in San Jose, California, Cisco Systems, is a manufacturer of Internet Protocol based networking and other products for the communications and IT industry.

Market is expecting a profit of 31 cents a share for the quarter ended October 2009, a drop of 12 cents compared to its actual profit it posted in the same quarter a year ago. The company posted a profit of 32 cents, 30 cents and 31 cents a share for the quarters ended January 2009, April 2009, and July 2009 respectively.

Currently trading around $23 with an average volume of about 46 million shares a day. CSCO is in my BUY watch list for short term trading. Watch for earnings on Wednesday November 4, 2009 after market close.

Prudential Financial, Inc., (PRU): Founded in 1875, headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, Prudential Financial, provides various financial products and services in the United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Market is expecting a profit of $1.33 a share for the quarter ended September 2009, an increase of 49 cents compared to its actual profit of 74 cents a share it posted in the same quarter a year ago.

PRU is in my BUY watch list for short term trading. Watch for earnings on Wednesday November 4, 2009, after market close.

Allstate Corporation, (ALL): Founded in 1931, based in Northbrook, Illinois, Allstate Corporation, engages in the personal property, casualty insurance, life insurance, retirement, and investment products business in the United States and Canada.

Market is expecting a profit of $1.01 a share for the quarter ended September 2009, a jump of $1.36 compared to its actual loss of 35 cent it posted in the same quarter a year ago. The company posted a profit of 97 cents, 84 cents and 55 cents a share in the quarters ended in December 2008, March 2009, and June 2009 respectively after posting a loss of 35 cents in the quarter ended September 2008.

Stock is currently trading at around $30 with an average volume of about 4.5 million shares per day. ALL is in my BUY watch list for short term trading. Watch for the earnings release on Wednesday November 4, 2009 after market close.

MGM Mirage, (MGM): Founded in 1986, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, MGM Mirage, owns and operates casino resorts in the United States.

Market is expecting a loss of 7 cents a share for the quarter ended September 2009, a drop of 29 cents compared to its actual profit it posted in the same quarter a year ago.

MGM is in my SHORT sell watch list for short term trading. Watch for earnings on Thursday November 5, 2009 before market open.

Time Warner Cable, Inc., (TWC): provides video, data, and voice service to residential and commercial customers in the United States. As of March 12, 209 Time Warner Cable, Inc., operates independently of Time Warner, Inc.

Market is expecting a profit of 75 cents a share for the quarter ended September 2009, a drop of 18 cents compared to its actual profit it posted in the same quarter a year ago.

Currently trading at around $39.62 with an average volume of 2.7 million shares a day. TWC is in my SHORT sell watch list for short term trading. Watch for the earnings release on Thursday November 5, 2009 before market open.
